GOES imports surge alleged after dumping case

NEW YORK — Domestic producers of grain-oriented electrical steel (GOES) have filed "critical circumstances" allegations against imports from the Czech Republic, Poland and Russia, according to a Feb. 24 filing with the Commerce Department’s Enforcement and Compliance division.

AK Steel Corp., Allegheny Technologies Inc. and the United Steelworkers union filed an anti-dumping case against imports from the three countries, as well as China, Germany, Japan and South Korea, in mid-September (amm.com, Sept. 18).....
