Unplanned outage at AK’s Ashland furnace

NEW YORK An incident at AK Steel Corp.s Ashland, Ky., facility Feb. 22 has resulted in an unplanned blast furnace outage, a company spokesman has confirmed.
"There were no injuries in connection with this incident," the spokesman told AMM in an e-mail Feb. 25. "The company continues to assess the situation and investigate the root cause of the incident. In the meantime, the company has begun repairs to bring the furnace back into production as soon as possible."....
