Auto demand should warm up Bonnell results: Tredegar

CHICAGO — Bonnell Aluminum Inc.’s first-quarter results might be chilled by an unusually cold winter, but the aluminum extruder expects to see better times later in 2014.

Richmond, Va.-based Tredegar Corp., which owns aluminum extruder Bonnell, was "a little slow coming out of the block in 2014," company president and chief executive officer Nancy M. Taylor said Feb. 24 during a conference call with analysts.

That’s in part because Bonnell’s plants in the Midwest and Southeast were disrupted by the harsh weather and suffered "spikes in energy costs that will be difficult to offset entirely in the first quarter," she said.....
