Aluminum scrap shipments hit by weather

NEW YORK Trucking delays, largely stemming from ongoing weather issues across much of the country and spiking fuel costs, have severely impacted shipments of aluminum scrap, shippers told AMM.
The delays are likely to get even worse through the middle of March as another cold front hit the eastern half of the United States March 3, market participants said.
The storm will bring extremely hazardous road conditions as it moves through the Tennessee Valley and Mid-Atlantic states, according to the National Weather Service. "Unseasonably cold temperatures more typical of January will prevail east of the Rocky Mountains for the next few days, keeping winter around for a while longer," the agency said on its website.....
