OCTG, line pipe growth to continue: TMK Ipsco

HOUSTON TMK Ipsco expects the drive toward more-complex metallurgies and processing in the oil country tubular goods (OCTG) market to continue in 2014, driven by more-challenging drilling environments, while line pipe demand is expected to pick up due to replace aging pipeline infrastructure.
"The desire of the pipe buyer to do more in less time is only going to get stronger. And that means the pipe is going to be looking at more abuse and driving our product again to the right (in terms of complexity) and up (in terms of profitability)," chairman Piotr Galitzine said on the sidelines of AMMs seventh annual Steel Tube and Pipe Conference in Houston. ....
