China firm said eyeing Calif. aluminum project

CHICAGO Chinese aluminum extrusion giant China Zhongwang Holdings Ltd. is considering building a $1.5-billion secondary aluminum plant in Barstow, Calif., according to city council records.
But the developer behind the project, Newport Beach, Calif.-based Scuderia Development LLC, disputed council records that China Zhongwang was involved with the project.
Liaoning, China-based China Zhongwang could not be reached for comment March 4.
"We are evaluating and considering the development of a very large-scale secondary aluminum plant. Thats where Im going to leave it," Scuderia chief executive officer Eric Shen told AMM by telephone.....
