Severe weather slows Feb. auto sales

NEW YORK — Despite strong demand from American auto buyers, severe winter weather across large portions of the United States left auto sales essentially flat year over year in February.

The top seven automakers sold 1,026,458 vehicles in February, down around 500 units from the same month last year. Auburn Hills, Mich.-based Chrysler Group LLC and Japan’s Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. bucked the downward trend, bolstered by strong sales of crossover vehicles.....
