AK Steel alleges NOES import surge

NEW YORK AK Steel Corp. has filed "critical circumstances" allegations in its anti-dumping case against non-oriented electrical steel (NOES) imports from Germany, Japan and South Korea, according to a March 6 filing with the U.S. Commerce Departments Enforcement and Compliance division.
NOES imports from Germany totaled 2,098 tons in the fourth quarter, a 31.2-percent jump from 1,600 tons in the previous quarter, shipments from Japan increased 22 percent to 4,961 tons from 4,067 tons in the same comparison and imports from Korea more than doubled to 2,202 tons....
