Hanjin to continue shipping at Port of Portland

NEW YORK Hanjin Shipping Co. Ltd. will continue its weekly trans-Pacific vessel call at the Port of Portland in Oregon, nearly four months after it first threatened to exit due to escalating costs and low productivity, the port said March 10.
The South Korean shipping company is the single-largest shipping provider for containerized scrap metal exports out of Portland. Its potential exit was expected to impact mostly ferrous scrap market participants (amm.com, Nov. 27) as very little nonferrous scrap is shipped from the port.....
