Stainless scrap climbs in step with LME nickel

NEW YORK — Stainless steel scrap prices rose across the austenitic grades this week as the market responded to impressive demand and revitalized London Metal Exchange nickel prices, industry participants told AMM.

AMM’s broker/processor buying prices for Type 316 solids increased to $2,060 to $2,105 per gross ton from $2,000 to $2,080 per ton last week, 304 solids rose to $1,590 to $1,635 per ton from $1,545 to $1,590 and 304 turnings jumped to $1,410 to $1,455 from $1,390 to $1,410 previously.....
