House panel sets hearing on LNG export bill

NEW YORK — The House Energy and Power Subcommittee has scheduled a March 25 hearing to review a bill that could significantly expedite U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports due to the crisis in Crimea.

“President Obama ... said that ‘we’re going to stand firm in our unwavering support for Ukraine.’ That should include unlocking U.S. natural gas supplies to help free Ukraine and other European nations from Russia’s influence,” Rep. Cory Gardner (R., Colo.) said in a statement.....
