Titanium prices flat as market awaits surcharge

LOS ANGELES Spot prices for titanium commodity products remain flat as market participants increasingly turn their attention to an upcoming key raw materials surcharge for the next clue to the markets direction.
Standard aerospace titanium 6-aluminum/4-vanadium ingot remains stuck in a range of $8 to $8.50 per pound, with some material available at under $8 on an "opportunistic" basis, although market sources said the frequency of these opportunities is declining.
Lead times on 6/4 ingot remain in a range of four to six weeks, buyers said, while lead times on bar under 3 inches in diameter are estimated at eight to 10 weeks.....
