Sheet price direction stirs concern in market

NEW YORK Market participants remained mixed on the direction of steel sheet prices following the first increase of the year, with some reporting steady demand and others concerned by the volume of imported material hitting U.S. shores.
Underscoring much of the hesitancy is exactly how steady and strong demand will be after unseasonably cold weather swept across the United States for most of the first quarter.
The price increases could stick, maybe, one end-user said. I keep hearing that 2014 should have a lot more activity, which were talking about true demand. If that happens, then we may be OK. But I dont know where things will end up.....
