PCC’s deal for ADI stresses drive for in-house sourcing

LOS ANGELES Precision Castparts Corp.s (PCCs) plans for its newest proposed acquisition, Aerospace Dynamics International (ADI), reflect the companys increasing intention to drive sourcing among its operations in-house.
PCC this past week said it will spend $625 million to buy the Valencia, Calif.-based machining house, which has specialties in large complex components (amm.com, March 20).
Mark Donegan, chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement that hes looking for the "fasteners, forgings and castings that ADI currently purchases on the outside" to be supplied by other PCC operations.....
