Stainless steel scrap logs further gains

NEW YORK — Stainless steel scrap prices have continued to log gains, although industry sources warned of a potentially “overheated” market operating at levels above what consumers are willing to pay for material.

AMM’s broker/processor buying prices for Type 316 solids inched up to $2,125 to $2,175 per gross ton from $2,105 to $2,150 last week, 304 solids strengthened to $1,660 to $1,680 per ton from $1,635 to $1,680 and 304 turnings rose to $1,500 to $1,545 per ton from $1,455 to $1,480 per ton previously.....
