Alton Steel owner opts not to sell company

NEW YORK Steel bar manufacturer Alton Steel Inc. is no longer for sale, company sources told AMM, months after its improved position drew interest from several prospective buyers.
Alton Steel, which bought bankrupt Laclede Steel Co. in 2003 and reopened its mill in Alron, Ill., confirmed in July that it was considering a sale after being approached by several interested parties (amm.com, July 24).....
