Stainless scrap steady despite LME nickel fall

NEW YORK — Stainless scrap prices held steady this week despite lower nickel prices, with market participants citing continuing tightness in material availability and strong demand from stainless steel and alloy producers.

AMM’s broker/processor buying prices remained unchanged March 31, with Type 316 solids at $2,125 to $2,175 per gross ton, 304 solids at $1,660 to $1,680 per ton, 430 solids at $495 to $540 per ton and 409 solids at $450 to $495 per ton.....
