UPI lifts sheet prices; CSI closes May books

LOS ANGELES A new round of flat-rolled steel price increases has been launched on the West Coast, with USS-Posco Industries Inc. (UPI) announcing a $30-per-ton increase while a second mill said its May order book has been closed.
UPI, one of the regions major producers, has notified customers it raised its base price by $30 per ton on hot-rolled pickled and oiled, cold-rolled annealed and galvanized sheet April 4. The Pittsburg, Calif.-based producer said cold-rolled and hot-rolled pickled and oiled....
