Cuts, closures support OCTG trade case: AISI

NEW YORK — Recent production cuts and mill closures in the domestic oil country tubular goods (OCTG) sector will likely be a focus of an ongoing anti-dumping investigation against nine countries before a final decision in the trade case is made in July.

"It’s these kinds of facts that the petitioners will be bringing forward as we go towards the final determination in this case," American Iron and Steel Institute president and chief executive officer Thomas J. Gibson told reporters during a conference call, adding that the cutbacks were "further evidence of the impact that unfairly traded imports....
