NEW YORK — U.S. bulk ferrous scrap export prices inched up around 1 percent this past week as lower freight rates for East Coast and Gulf Coast shippers helped negate a small drop in delivered prices.

North American exporters have booked just two bulk cargo sales to Turkey since April 7, with both headed to the same Turkish mill for May shipment.

One East Coast cargo was booked at $384.50 per tonne for an 80/20 mix of No. 1 and No. 2 heavy melt c.i.f. Turkey, sources said, with shredded scrap booked at $389.50 per tonne and plate and structural scrap at $394.50 per tonne.....
