RNC acquires 25% stake in Sudbury Platinum

NEW YORK Royal Nickel Corp. (RNC) has acquired a 25-percent interest in exploration group Sudbury Platinum Corp., a move that raises RNCs exposure to the Aer-Kidd nickel-copper-platinum group metals project in Ontarios Sudbury Basin, the junior miner said April 14.
RNCs Canadian $1.5-million ($1.37-million) investment in Sudbury Platinum, which discovered Xstrata Plcs Nickel Rim South Mine in Sudbury in 2001, allows the nickel miner to diversify its holdings and "get back in the Sudbury Basin," RNC interim president and chief executive officer Mark Selby said during an April 14 conference call.....
