Stainless shipments continue uptick: MSCI

NEW YORK North American shipments of stainless steel continued to improve last month, according to the latest Metals Service Center Institute (MSCI) data.
Stainless steel shipments by U.S. distributors totaled 160,500 tons in March, up 7.8 percent from 148,900 tons the previous month and 10.3 percent higher than 145,600 tons in March last year. Year-to-date shipments of 471,500 tons were up 5.8 percent from 445,600 tons in the first three months of last year. Inventories at the....
