ATI expects emerging positive trends

NEW YORK Allegheny Technologies Inc. (ATI) expects emerging trends in the form of longer lead times for many of its products, the realization of modest base price increases, and a shift in the direction of raw material surcharges to deliver improved results after a "challenging" first quarter.
Despite the challenges presented by the quarter, strengthening demand from the jet engine market, projected growth in commercial aircraft build rates and "better balance" from the oil and gas supply chain contributed to improving conditions, Richard J. Harshman, ATI chairman, president and chief executive officer, said during the companys earnings conference call April 22.....
