Voestalpine starts output at US auto parts plant

CHICAGO Voestalpine Group has begun producing high-strength steel auto components at its $70-million Voestalpine Automotive Body Parts Inc. subsidiary in Cartersville, Ga.
The plant, about 60 miles northwest of Atlanta, will make high-strength stamped parts, laser-welded blanks and other components for high-end automakers.
"We are following the automotive manufacturers, particularly the European ones, into the markets of the future and massively expanding our presence there," Voestalpine chief executive officer said in a statement April 22.....
