Eramet optimistic despite 1st qtr. revenue dip

NEW YORK Eramet SA remains upbeat that improvement lies ahead for the second quarter despite a 10.4-percent year-on-year drop in revenue to 714 million ($986.2 million) during the first quarter.
The Paris-based company blamed scheduled maintenance shutdowns for much of the decline in revenue, including in its manganese operations (down 16 percent), its nickel operations (down 8.3 percent) and in its alloy division (off 3 percent).....
