Ducommun earnings up; wins role on 737 MAX

LOS ANGELES — Ducommun Inc. has landed a role as "the sole-source supplier for a titanium assembly" on Boeing Co.’s 737 MAX, chairman and chief executive officer Anthony J. Reardon said during a quarterly earnings conference call.

The re-engined version of Chicago-based Boeing’s top-selling single-aisle airliner is due to enter service in 2017.

Ducommun’s new production contract is expected to start later this year and continue through 2024, Reardon said, adding that it will boost the company’s association with Boeing as well as with Wichita, Kan.-based Spirit AeroSystems Inc., considered Boeing’s largest airframe subcontractor. ....
