PITTSBURGH U.S. Steel Corp. returned to profitability in the first quarter despite harsh winter weather but warned that second-quarter results could be slammed by production and supply chain problems.
The gains came thanks to higher average prices and despite increased natural gas costs, the Pittsburgh-based steelmaker said. But the company warned that its flat-rolled segment will report a loss in the second quarter in part because of operational issues.....
