US steel beam imports charting gains for April

LOS ANGELES U.S. imports of steel beams were on course to rise more than 14 percent in April as the absence of Russia, the largest offshore source in March, was offset by higher indicated arrivals from Luxembourg, Mexico and Spain.
Import license applications for wide-flange and standard beams totaled 36,068 tonnes through April 29, up 14.3 percent from 31,569 tonnes in March and 33.7 percent above the year-earlier 26,974 tonnes, data from the U.S. Commerce Departments Enforcement and Compliance division show.....
