Global stainless output hits all-time high

NEW YORK Global stainless steel output reached an all-time high of 38.13 million tonnes last year, exceeding the previous peak achieved in 2012 by 7.8 percent, according to a report from Meps International Ltd.
Worldwide stainless production is expected to grow by a further 3.6 percent in 2014 "to reach a new record of 39.5 million tonnes," the Sheffield, England-based consultancy said May 1.....
