Stronger drilling in Southwest bolsters Tenaris

NEW YORK Increased activity in Texas and New Mexico buoyed Tenaris SAs first-quarter earnings even as the unusually cold winter hampered rig efficiencies.
The Luxembourg-based companys "alliance customers" in the Permian Basin and also in the Eagle Ford shale "are outperforming the average of the market," Germán Curá, managing director of North American operations, said during an earnings conference call May 2.....
