Ramp-up in full swing at Universal's alloy plant

NEW YORK The ramp-up of Universal Stainless & Alloy Products Inc.s premium alloy production facility in North Jackson, Ohio, is fully under way, the companys top executive said in a quarterly earnings conference call May 1.
Productivity at the plants vacuum-arc remelting (VAR) and vacuum-induction melting (VIM) units jumped during the first fiscal quarter of this year, Universal chairman, president and chief executive officer Dennis Oates said in the earnings call.....
