Copper expects boost from renewable energy

TUCSON, Ariz. The renewable energy market, particularly wind and solar, is expected to become a major consumer of copper, said Zolaikha Strong, the Copper Development Associations (CDAs) director of sustainable energy.
"People are often surprised at a conservative industry like copper looking to promote progressive programs," she said at the American Copper Councils Copper College meeting in Tucson. "But there is huge potential for growth here."....
