Haynes sees volatile order pattern amid rising nickel prices

NEW YORK Haynes International Inc. has seen a see-saw order pattern following the recent nickel price run-up, with an initial boost in March followed by a dip in April, according to the companys top executive.
"In March people were saying holy smokes, weve got to beat the nickel," president and chief executive officer Mark Comerford said during an earnings conference call. More recently, however, "some customers pulled back on ordering as they felt the recent nickel increase was too much too fast."....
