Some copper scrap spreads tick up

NEW YORK — Spreads on some grades of copper scrap widened slightly this week as the terminal market experienced an upswing, market participants said.

However, the discount for No. 1 copper scrap sold to brass mills remained at zero to 2 cents, with that for No. 1 bare bright sold to ingot makers narrowing to the same range from 1 to 3 cents previously due to strong demand across all segments of the United....
