USS restart of Great Lakes Works under way

CHICAGO — U.S. Steel Corp. is restarting steelmaking operations at its Great Lakes Works in Ecorse, Mich.

"The start-up process is under way," a company spokeswoman told AMM via e-mail May 15.

Pittsburgh-based U.S. Steel had expected to resume output in mid-May (amm.com, April 30). It halting output in late March following a roof collapse and the death of a contractor (amm.com, March 28), later....
