NEW YORK — Empire Resources Inc.’s earnings soared in the first quarter on the back of higher sales, particularly to Latin America.

The Fort Lee, N.J.-based company, which distributes semi-finished metal products to consumers in the transportation, automotive, housing, appliance and packaging industries, posted net income of $1.03 million for the three months ended March 31 vs.....
