NEW YORK — Tightening high-carbon ferrochrome supplies are prompting major sellers to limit spot offers.

AMM’s high-carbon ferrochrome price assessment remains in a range of $1.12 to $1.17 per pound, although one trader is optimistic about prices moving closer to $1.20 per pound soon. "Not many people are offering low numbers right now because you can’t replace material," he said. "Contract guys are taking a lot of material, and prices are inching up because supply is limited."....
