NEW YORK — Commercial Metals Co. (CMC) is buying a San Antonio auto shredder to lock up more feedstock for one of its steel mills.

The Irving, Texas-based steelmaker and metal recycler confirmed that wholly owned subsidiary Structural Metals Inc. has entered into an agreement to purchase the assets of Newell Recycling of San Antonio LP. Included....
