NEW YORK Best practices from metal organizations might be more effective at deterring metals theft than state and local regulations vs. scrapyards, one security company executive said.
"Many people outside the scrap industry dont realize its value, and these regulationswhile well intentionedcan be counterproductive and onerous if not implemented correctly," according to Jack DeMao, chief executive officer at Columbia, S.C.-based Electric Guard Dog LLC, which specializes in preventing metals theft.....
