Ford unveils lightweight car in aluminum drive

NEW YORK Ford Motor Co. has unveiled a lightweight concept vehicle based on its 2013 Fusion, the next step in the automakers push toward weight reduction and improved fuel economy.
The vehicle builds on research for Fords aluminum-bodied 2015 F-150 and is 25-percent lighter than the standard Fusion, the Dearborn, Mich.-based automaker said June 2.
"Were taking a full-size sedan and making it the weight of a small compact vehicle," Matt Zaluzec, senior technical leader at the Ford Research and Innovation Center, said during a video presentation.....
