Metal powder shipments to rise in ’14

LOS ANGELES Metal powder shipments should rise 5 percent this year in tandem with a corresponding increase in the material largely automotive parts markets, according to the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF).
Iron powder shipmentsdriven by the highest production of North American light vehicles in 13 yearstotaled 401,738 tons in 2013, up 4.62 percent from the previous year and exceeding 400,000 tons for the first time since 2007, the MPIF announced at its World Congress on Powder Metallurgy and Particulate Materials in Orlando, Fla. ....
