No new trial in MM Steel antitrust case

CHICAGO — A federal judge has denied a new trial for steel companies and service centers hit with $156 million in damages in a Texas antitrust lawsuit that accused them of trying to drive MM Steel LP out of business.

"The court has reviewed the motions and finds no evidentiary or legal basis presented for future review," Judge Kenneth M. Hoyt said in a June 12 order filed in U.S. District Court in Texas, also ordering that MM Steel be awarded attorneys’ fees of more than $7.1 million.....
