NEW YORK — Grupo FerroAtlántica SA will build its first North American silicon plant in Port-Cartier, Quebec.

The Madrid-based silicon, manganese and ferrosilicon alloys producer will invest $382 million to establish its FerroQuébec subsidiary, which will produce about 100,000 tonnes of silicon per year. ....
