Pipe and tube demand hits lull

Participants in the pipe and tube markets reported sluggish market sentiment this past week, despite expectations that pent-up demand from the long winter would buoy shipments.
"Its kind of slow. Well have two good days and then three bad ones," one Midwest distributor said, noting that rapid price increases for some pipe products was part of the reason behind the tepid outlook despite higher expectations.....
