NEW YORK — Some steel market analysts see the possibility of a reversal in an anti-dumping investigation of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) from South Korea and eight other countries, with a favorable outcome for the domestic industry particularly positive for U.S. Steel Corp.’s outlook.

"Based on our discussions with trade sources (and) company managements, and review of (U.S. Commerce Department) documents, we are cautiously optimistic of a reversal of the preliminary determination," analysts at New York-based Cowen & Co. LLC wrote in a July 8 report, citing extensive lobbying by the domestic industry and the possibility of stalling tactics by Korean producers having led to incomplete information prior to the preliminary determinations, which were largely unfavorable to the domestic industry (amm.com, Feb. 18).....
