General Cable to restructure, slash jobs

NEW YORK — Wire and cable manufacturer General Cable Corp. will restructure its business, an effort it expects will lead to annual savings across all segments of $10 million this year and $75 million starting in 2016.

General Cable expects to eliminate 1,000 positions worldwide, or 7 percent of its work force, according to a July 9 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.....
