Cliffs brands Casablanca plan a ‘fire sale’

NEW YORK Iron ore miner Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. has criticized key selling points of activist investor Casablanca Capital LPs plan for the mining company, the latest in a series of increasingly heated exchanges between the two companies.
In a July 14 letter to shareholders, Cliffs said Casablancas willingness to sell certain Cliffs mining assets if it gains control of the company would end in a misguided and short-sighted "fire sale."....
