Nonferrous scrap export slowdown continues

NEW YORK U.S. nonferrous scrap exports fell for the fifth successive month in May compared with a year earlier as weaker Chinese demand continued to hurt overall volumes.
Exports of the six major nonferrous metal groups tracked by AMMaluminum, copper, lead, nickel, zinc and used beverage can (UBC) scraptotaled 269,203 short tons, down 6.5 percent from 287,886 tons in May last year, according to the latest U.S. Commerce Department data.....
