Mercator-Intergeo merger threatened

NEW YORK Mercator Minerals Ltd. is considering alternatives after Intergeo MMC Ltd. told the copper-molybdenum mining company that it may not extend the deadline for their merger agreement.
The two companies have twice extended the deadline for their proposed merger to provide Russias Federal Anti-Monopoly Services (FAS) with additional time to complete its review (amm.com, April 30).
However, Mercator said it has now been advised by Intergeo that it does not expect to request or agree to an extension of the completion deadline beyond Aug. 1. ....
