Supply issues said to lift copper prices

NEW YORK — Copper supply issues are likely to push prices higher, according to analysts and market participants, but premiums remain unaffected as weak demand in certain segments and a slowdown in summer business has reduced the urgency for spot copper.

Production challenges in Chile and Indonesia could cause a supply constraint, Anthony Rizzuto Jr., managing director at New York-based Cowen Securities LLC, said in a research note.....
